Every parent in the world today is worried about the youth violence in today's society. How can they even send their children to school without the fear of them getting stabbed or shot at? This is a major issue for everyone because it affects everybody around it. Youth Violence is so out of control that the law is taking it into their own perspective and trying to fix it the way they think is best. But you see, the thing is, that youth violence is everywhere in all states and all countries. So how can we handle the majority of the youth behavior?
There are a few solutions to the issue; one is to start youth groups to talk about violence and what they think it is or what it means to them. Secondly, get the parents or guardians involved and possibly the school as well. High Schools should have classes or programs that push the student body towards less aggressive reactions to situations with their peers. Youth Violence consists of many different varieties of aggressive behavior; such as bullying, gender and racial harassment, sexual assault/rape, gang violence, gun use, and ‘hate’ crimes. Most believe that youth violence comes from a disturbed child from either their background lifestyle or that have been neglected and abused. "Anti-violence activists, such as The Oakland Men’s Project believe that the power dynamics in society promote conflict, but also that the origins of violence in human development can be traced back to a child’s early interactions with adults."
I have chosen this topic because I see it happening every day and hear about it on the news all the time. It upsets me that there is still racism and criticism in our society and is not being dealt with in the proper way. I look at some people’s violent acts as a cry for help or attention from others. The way I see it, people should treat others as they want to be treated and display some respect for the adults that try to help them by setting rules and boundaries for the youth.Adults only do it because that means that they care for you and don't want to see the rest of your life fall because of your violent decisions so....
